Counselling Records and Confidentiality

If you become a counselling client, I may collect and retain information necessary to provide counselling safely and professionally.

This may include contact information, counselling agreements, relevant personal information, appointment information and counselling notes.

Information disclosed during counselling is treated as confidential. However, there may be circumstances where information needs to be shared, including where there are safeguarding concerns, a serious risk of harm, or where disclosure is required by law.

Where appropriate and possible, I will aim to discuss this with you before information is shared.

As part of ethical counselling practice, aspects of client work may also be discussed within professional clinical supervision. Identifying information will be kept to the minimum necessary and supervision is confidential.
